Stromboli is the furthest Aeolian Island north of Sicily and its active volcano has been erupting continuously for more than 2,000 years. With this volcanic activity, the island is home to several black sand beaches as well as secluded coves accessible only by boat. One of the best-known beaches, Ficogrande, offers visitors lounge chairs, umbrellas and concession stands.
